Hi, is anybody else on here into militaria? A couple of years ago I was looking through some of my bits and bobs and I found a ww2 37 pattern Bren gun ammo pouch. Nothing unusual in that except it was stamped as made by Rover!
37 pattern Bren gun pouches are common as muck but I've only seen 1 other made by Rover. Sadly the seller thought it was made of pure gold.. so it stayed on his stall.. Hopefully I'll find another to make the pair one day.

The Bren Gun was my personal weapon for a few years until it was replaced by the LMG which was not at all lightweight and then subsequently the LSW which was much better to lug around as it was magazine fed and not belt fed like the LMG was.
Fond memories.

Bren gun took the skin off my elbows and my arm was burnt with some of the shell casings. Accurate though.
The Rover Co manufactured many of the items required for the war effort as did all the motor manufactures of the day. I remember somewhere the Rover co set up shop underground to avoid the air raids.
as far as the pouches go sadly many have faded with age and no longer retain the green colouring they once had, the insides remain Good though so chances are you will find another.
War and peace show in Kent is a good place to visit

I accidently took hold of the barrel during a change of barrels and after a long sustained burst off of a few mags. Never again did I make that mistake. It burnt right through my gloves and took most of my palm skin withy it. LOL. Memories eh.

War and peace show in Kent is a good place to visit The War and Peace is one of my 'must attend' shows, it can sometimes be awesome for those hard to find extras. WW2 Helmet liners, Victorian bayonet frogs ... you name it I haven't shot a Bren but I do own one. 1941 Inglis, Love the engineering that goes into these.
