I wanted to fit electronic ignition in my '68 saloon and contacted Accuspark to get the right kit. They replied that there are two types of Lucas 35D8 Distributor and, after sending them a picture of the one in my car (see below), they said they don't have a kit compatible with mine. Apparently there is a pin that would stop a trigger ring from being mounted.
They suggested I try the Sparkrite SX4000 Electronic ignition which I understand is basically just a switch and I get to keep the points.
My question is, as nothing came up on search, has anyone here had experience of the Sparkrite system in a P5b?

If you are fitting electronic ignition it is best to do away with the points. I have had Luminition in my car since 1977 and it is fit and forget

Got mine from here: simonbbc.com/They do kits for both baseplates mine is like yours. Added a sport coil at same time and sorted! Cheaper than other options and the spark is way less weedy than it used to be!
