Attachment DeletedHi having acquired a Rover 3 litre Mark 2 1964 Coupe auto box I have been finding it difficult to identify these switches. They are wired in and ready to go but what do they do? The one on the right pulls out. Thanks. Attachment Deleted

The pull switch may have been for a heated rear window (optional extra) and the toggle switch for front fog/driving lights (also optional extra but not with that switch.
Trace the cables?

Good for you for getting a 3-litre. The Mk II coupe was one of the best.
Is it a IIb or IIc? I believe the fusebox is different.
I do not recognize the additional switch gear. It does not lok very "Rover" to me (but then neither does the screen washer switch).
Post a picture of the fuses?

Hi, thanks for the replies. The rover is a 11c. It does have a sticker on the front passenger side quarter light saying there is an immobiliser fitted and plenty of grey wire attached to nothing. The car runs with out problems. Also I had considered the heated rear window but the rear window, which looks original, has no heating elements in it (unless it was a stick on heater?). The way they are wired and the plate they are attached to look professionally done and of the period. I don't believe in messing about with wiring until I get an idea of switches function. I'll have a go at tracing the wires.

I have a 1966 P5 IIC Coupe, and the right hand pull switch is identical to mine and on my car works a heated rear window element (the wires are embedded in the glass and very fine-could you have missed them, or perhaps the rear window was replaced at some time). The left hand toggle and the mounting plate don't look original to me however.

It is looking like one of the switches is for a rear window heater and the other is for a immobiliser. I will have another look at the rear window but I am pretty sure there are no heating elements. How easy is it to get a rear window with the heater elements in it ?
