I was pleased to see the green 2-door P5B coupé at the Powderham classic car show (Devon) today. I recall seeing it advertised when it went for auction recently and I think it was bought by somebody on here.
It was good to see it 'in the flesh' and it took a moment or two before I realised what it was and I think the changes were well done, providing a good side profile for a 2-door; I liked the opening rear windows as well. Unfortunately I didn't see the owner so couldn't have a chat about it.

I'm sure it looks great in the flesh but my argument about a two door conversion has always been "How does one get access to sit on the back seat of a 2 door p5 coupe?" unless the b posts are removed and the front seats replaced with two folding deck chairs i cant see how one can enter the car from the front door and sit in the back! (god knows its hard enough getting in the back of a 4 door coupe without banging your head)

Just replace the back seats with a bangin' stereo system. Problem solved

Darn, I was at Powderham and missed it! Saying that, it is a big show. I did however spot a couple of others.

In the Kendals the B post was moved back approx 4" and the front seat backs converted to tip forward

It must be me I guess but once a car ceases to be what it was originally supposed to be I loose all interest in it. I must admit it looks OK but that's where my interest finishes

Concourse original, modified, hot rodded; I love 'em all. I could not care less if a car is hot rodded, as they are after all just a mass produced item. I love the way I can look at a modified car and think, yep, I like most of that but I would do that and that differently. I respect the work and imagination that goes into the modification of some cars and how the owner can use the car to express his personality and creativity. I also appreciate the money, time and effort it takes to keep a car as original as possible. I drive a bone standard original '88 Chev Camaro and a modded Rover p5 and love them both.
