Well I guess if you have to do it, you may as well do it in style. "Classic Electioneering in East Yorkshire
Founding Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Historic Vehicle Group Sir Greg Knight has been campaigning for the General Election across East Yorkshire in classic style, driving his 1969 Rover P5B Coupe.
Sir Greg, who has represented East Yorkshire in the House of Commons since 2001, said: “The Rover P5 is one of Britain’s favourite classics. It brings back memories for people from all walks of life and from across the political divide, so it really is an ideal campaign wagon”.
Sir Greg, who hopes to be re-elected on Polling Day, sounded a note of caution to voters: “Make sure that whoever you vote for that they are “classic friendly”. We do not want to see new MPs being elected who will support huge hikes in fuel duty and back new laws which would clobber historic vehicles and restrict their future use”.Pictured: Sir Greg Knight with his 1969 Rover P5B Coupe, which he has owned for over 30 years.
