This is not selling "a car" as it's been stripped out ahead of the welding that I can't get done for love nor money.
She's way too good for banger racing.

Nice.
I'm in London. How much did that cost?
And how are the doors working?
Only I was informed that the door post has to be braced before the old sills are cut out, otherwise you'll never get the doors to open or close again.

You cant find anybody Henry No. There have been a few people I've been put onto, however they end up a mixture of no shows, and highway robbers!

Henry, their rate per hour is extremely reasonable but you would have to get a quote for the job. Mine were done as part of a very extensive renovation of the whole car. I shall see them on Monday and could ask for an indication - send that by PM. Depends too upon the integrity of adjacent parts of the body shell so sight of the car or a detailed assessment needed. My doors line up and close perfectly.

My car was recommissioned 20 years ago. Totally solid except for the sills, which I've already got.

Indeed, but too pricey for me.
There's a fella in Harlow that does them 1500 per side, which includes the sills.
They're 300 per side and I've already got both sets, so anything above 2400 is more than Harlow

My chap says £1,000 per side, so cheaper UNLESS additional work is found necessary once things are apart - that would apply anywhere you go. Howard and Kevin are self professed perfectionists and have a proven record. Standard of work on mine is exemplary.

Again, at 1,000 per side, that becomes 1,300 per side, as I already have both sets of sills, which cost 300 per side from Wadhams. Are they quoting 1,000 per side with sills or without sills? Only 600 quid is 600 quid.

That is with you supplying the parts for them to use. It does include making good the paintwork, of course. Up market classic cars are not cheap to maintain, even if you can do much yourself. This is skilled work to get right and they would do a meticulous job for you.

they are the same Olaf. Murphy's law is a popular adage that states that "things will go wrong in any given situation, if you give them a chance," or more commonly, "whatever can go wrong, will go wrong." A number of variants on the rule have been formulated, as have several corollaries.
Sod's law is a British culture axiom that "if something can go wrong, it will", sometimes also made to include that it will happen at "the worst possible time" (Finagle's law). The term is commonly used in the United Kingdom, though in North America the eponymous "Murphy's law" is more popular. (with acknowledgements to Google)

Trouble with using Murphy's law is that it could be seen to cast the Irish in a bad light - Irish jokes and all that.

I don't think the Irish are the ones that caused Murphy's Law. I just think Murphy was smart enough to be the first one to recognize that's the way the world works.

I've decided to keep her.
Passenger side sills are already on. Can't believe they put an outer sill over the existing rotten sills.
Does anyone know if a 3 litre turbo diesel p5b exists?
