I have always found cleaning the interior headlining trim a big disapointment. Never really finding the right cleaner to really work. Has anybody used products that clean enough to even move those rust stains? I have found this product to start cleaning the rear quarter headling trim. It works really well. I was just wondering if anybody else had great results? Attachment Deleted

I think one of the previous owners of my car was a big pipe smoker going on the various marks around the interior.
I used formula 40 vinylclean which you are meant to use before vinylkote and it made a phenomenal difference to the headliner and the sun visors. It took what was a very dark colour especially above the driver seat back to something much brighter.
I know the vinylkote products have been discussed on here before having been bought by new owners but I reckon any decent apc will hit the spot nowadays.
Personally and as a bit of a car detailing freak I thoroughly recommend bilt hamber products and I use surfex hd for most heavy jobs nowadays which can be diluted down to 100 to 1. Excellent value!
Hope this helps!

I can't tell from the pictures, but are these sections of vinyl trim? Secondly, can you please list the ingredients in your preferred trim cleaner. What I can see looks very good.
I was looking into cleaning vinyl trim a couple of years ago, and just started small with the sun visors. Plain soap removed a bit, alcohol and white spirit did little, creme cleanser (CIF / GIF) did a bit more. What really removed the darkening stains was hydrogen peroxide under cling film and exposed for several hours to UV.
This last is a chemical reaction to remove iodine plasticiser that has leached out of the vinyl onto the surface and is the origin of that hard-to-remove coffee staining.

Interesting responses. Thank you. The chemical I use is UBIK 2000. I found out about it watching a window cleaning video. He used it on UPVC to restore the whiteness on grey window frames and sills. I used it neat after decanting to a spray bottle. I am very pleased with the results. I left it for 10 mins then wiped clean. If there are still some stubborn stains just repeat the application. BTW Excellent on soffits and facias etc.
