Hi all My handbrake clevis fork has broken in too while I was trying to get the pin out. JRW doesn’t have them I stick, but I have found a P4 one on the inter web. Does anyone know whether it will fit? Or the ones for a Land Rover Defender? If not, any ideas please? Thanks!

Most P4s and LR's are BSF - the Defender may be UNF

Sorry I am not much good on threads, do I need UNF? All the P5b rods are 1/4" UNF Stephen.

I have just stripped and overhauled the handbrake rods to my P5B and as John has already said they are definitely 1/4" UNF. If memory serves me right, the series Landrover's had 5/16" UNF rods so they definitely will not fit, which is a shame as they are a LOT cheaper! I believe the Defender has a completely different arrangement, though I have never worked on one so cannot be absolutely certain. The part number for the clevis on the P4 is 215809 - you need part number 247926.
Hope this helps!

Thanks everyone - super helpful as always. JRW says they are having problems getting them at the moment - guess I will have to wait! In the meantime i have fabricated a replacement just to be able to reassemble everything. TBH I rarely use the handbrake anyway on an automatic car

In the meantime i have fabricated a replacement just to be able to reassemble everything. TBH I rarely use the handbrake anyway on an automatic car I never use my handbrake/parking brake on mine either as she is always parked on level ground in my garage albeit i do regularly apply it and release it to ensure all works fine especially for the M.O.T test.
