I have a question about the colour of my interior, I can't figure out which colour it is. It was retrimmed in the nineties and the owner at that time was precize and serious, he might have opted for one of the original Rover colours. It's much lighter than saddle tan. Anybody any idea what it is?

It looks slightly dark for Biscuit, but it is hard to guess colours accurately this way... I would think Biscuit was pretty close, though.

I agree Mike, hard to see from pictures. It's kind of beige, here's another pic of it. Could well be bisquit indeed. Attachment Deleted

Looks like close enough to Biscuit to me - this was only used on later 3 Litres incl early Mk3s

Hi Guys - I have a bad set of seats (all three of them) for my MK 1A; red. Anyone that have a good set of seats for sale ?
I will soon send the ones I have for re-upholstery. Would rather avoid the uncertainty of new upholstery not being "original" enough.

Re Jos's question:
I don't think Biscuit was ever listed as a P5 colour and it definitely wasn't a P5B standard colour. The colour shown in the photo is definitely darker than the Biscuit leather used in the P6s of the same era; I had a one of the very first P6 2000s back in the day with Biscuit trim and it was much lighter than that shown in the photos.
However, I have recollections of seeing a P5 with similar colour trim but whether that was Tan, which was available for much of the P5 production up to and including the first year of the MK111 P5, or Sandalwood which was only available for the final year of P5 (also used in P6s IIRC), I can't say now. There was also a Stone colour but I can't recall what that looked like.

I've now had a look at a few 1960's Rover brochures and I still can't be sure. The early 3-litre brochures used artist impressions/drawings, which makes it difficult to be too sure on colours. The closest I can find is in the 1967 3-litre brochure which has what looks like photo pictures and by a matter of elimination I think it's probably Sandalwood, only available in that one year and which looks quite close to your pictures.
However, to complicate matters, in a later P6 brochure, the Sandalwood looks slightly darker whereas in a P5B brochure what is obviously Saddle Tan looks slightly lighter than they seemed to be in reality! Also, I couldn't find any photos of the earlier Tan or Stone colours to rule them out completely.

If it helps, picture from '67 year MK111 P5 brochure; the (individual) seats on the left are Sandalwood and the recently re-introduced rear bench photo is Buckskin, both colours new for that model year. They're photos of photos, so not perfect but give a general idea.

Sandalwood looks pretty similar in colour, but differences there will be, as mine is a P5B refurbished in 1997 by a restoration shop in Holland. And leather colours will change when aged as well. A few more pics of the colour in my car. The back bench was not retrimmed as you can see, there is a little colour difference. So actually the bench should be the original Rover colour, however it was reworked with a colourizer to have it matching with the new leather of the front seats back in 1997. I am going to do some maintenance on the leather and see if I can get the colours more equal again.

Rear bench looks like the colour I have: Saddle Tan. According to James Taylor, it was one of four colours to go with a Bordeaux Red exterior. Rgds Ben
