Help required please.
Radio reception in my area is poor, so I bought a DAB set to improve my musical entertainment. But after fitting with a DAB aerial converter I could not tune the set. On examination I found that my aerial lead had corroded where it connects with the antenna. The antenna is in good condition but I need to replace the cable. My first thought was to replace the lot but as you possible know they are as rare as! So where could I get a good and retain my existing antenna.

You can make your own cable. All you need is a few metres of coaxial cable and some connectors, all available on Ebay. You can get conectors with screw terminals so no soldering skills required. When you replace the cable, tape the end of the new cable securely to the old one and use the old one to draw through the new one.

This is a link to the connector that plugs into the radio:
I haven't seen the one that connects to the antenna, it may be the same. If not, if you have a picture of that end I may be able to identify it. The cheapest way to get your coax cable is to buy a ready made coaxial lead and cut off the connectors. This is an example:
THey are all 75 Ohm coax but at this short length the actual impedence doesn't really matter.

Is it a good idea to smear a little clear silicon between the aerial base and roof prior to fitting?
