I am about to replace the AED system on my P5b with the manual choke conversion kit from JR Wadhams. Has anybody been down this road before?
Is this conversion as straight forward as it sounds? I originally thought I would have to change the carbs but now am under the impression this kit will solve my problems...

I fitted one when I first bought my car, it had already been converted to manual but only had a single cable so only choked on one carb. The kit is easy to fit, but you’ll need the little clips that fit in the air box trumpet to hold the cable splitter in place

Hi How did you come on with fitting the conversion kit ? i just bought one also and as with yourself, no instructions whatsoever . If you did manage to have success, any chance you could share a few pictures or sketches ? Would be greatly appreciated !!

I researched this when my aed was playing up but I managed to rebuild it again so haven't yet got the manual choke kit. I will when the aed goes again as parts are so expensive for it!
What I was going to suggest is that there is a good pic of the mechanism on the burlen website if you look up the carb (HS6). Interesting that they don't sell the choke parts now so the only place you can get the kit is JRW. They were also out of stock last year when I needed it hence rebuilding the AED.
The same parts explosion is in the Rover parts manual if you have one but you'll probably need to scan and enlarge it which is why the Burlen site is better!
Hope this helps?

Eventually managed it, but took carbs off to make it much easier. Thanks for your help.
