Whilst browsing the web pages of my local model specialist I was interested to see a new range of 1:18 scale P5B models listed. These are sold under the Cult Models brand, and are said to be made of high quality resin with photo etched parts. A range of colours (maroon, green, blue) are listed, at a price of £139.99. No idea as to who Cult Models are, or of the quality of the finished product, I believe Cult Models are based in the Netherlands. For more info please check out their web page at www.cultmodels.com/products.aspx?Car+brand=RoverIf you wish to buy, please check out Mclaren Models own web page. mclaren-models.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=746_749_37&products_id=16822

This looks like a very nice model, but it seems to be the same car that was sold as a 1:18 BoS (Best of Show) model. It seems identical down to it's muffler and exhaust pipe, so I wonder if the company was renamed. The price is about the same, and it is a very nicely made model. The BoS one that I have is painted gold with a black top and listed as a 1971 P5b Coupe.

Nice looking models, the mirrors are a bit on the big side & the tyres look a bit fat, but on the whole very nice. I haven’t got one, but I’ve seen the BOS model & I think it’s just that little bit better. I would need to see them both in the flesh.
They’re not the same Ken, the BOS is a coupe & the Cult is a saloon😉
