Hi All,
First time posting on here so here goes! I’m rebuilding the brakes on my P5B and I’ve got to the rear ones.
Looking in the manual there is a part listed as a handbrake return spring. There were non on my car when I dismantled so I looked on Wadhams website and such a thing was listed. I’ve ordered two but can’t for the life of me see where they should fit.
Any diagram that I’ve googled doesn’t show them either. Any thoughts gratefully received.
Kind regards,
Rob

They were on early 3 Litres. They fit on the tappet cover. They were deleted from later models as found unnecessary. They are only needed to retain originality not function and in fact can impede return action if they slip or stick through lack of maintenance

Thanks Phil. Pretty sure they were listed as P5B springs but that’s great.

These springs were delisted in later Parts manuals except as is usual with Rover publications the illustration was not revised/corrected. They were not fitted on P5Bs although may not do any real harm.
If you have no Rover Parts manual as well as the official workshop manual both are really essential but they do contain errors and conflicts with the various handbook editions (which also have errors!)
