With great effort I installed one of the weather seals, I obtained from Wadhams. Now, when I try to open the window it tries to eat my seal! I cannot open it at all as the seal firmly touches the window. The old seal had felt on the back preventing this blockage. Any resolution for this?

I resolved it with fitting a piece of tape behind the seal. Not exactly what I had in mind and I wonder how long it lasts but at least I can open the window again.

An old dodge you might try is to coat the seal with a light dusting of talcum powder where it comes into contact with the glass. Once the glass/seal have worked together a few times you may find all is well. I occasionally give my door seals a very light rub with talc which prevents any risk of them sticking to the door shuts.

Do you mean the seal attached to the chrome trim?
If so I had exactly the same problem with same part when first opened. But weirdly I found simply running a thin plastic blade or paint stirrer in my case along the seal/ window gap settled it enough to wind the window. After a couple of passes all was ok again. The other thing I noted was to be very accurate in the length of the seal as any bunching up at the edges causes the same problem.
Hope this is the seal you mean as I have not yet changed the felt channels and need to do that one day too!
Hope is helps?

Silicon spray may help but the glass may need adjustment if it is tipping into the new seal too much on one face. This problem would not have shown up when the old worn out seals were in place

The prior seals were a completely different structure with a lot of felt liner on the back. Unfortunately it had dried out and retracted from the window. Finding proper rubber parts and fitting them nicely gives me a lot of headache! The doors seals I did twice in one year switching to another supplier but we don’t always have alternatives.
