I am struggling to remove the kickdown/downshift cable on my P5B Saloon. I can't get a good view of the big nut on the gearbox end of the cable. It could be 3/4 A.F. but I'm not sure. Can anyone confirm?

11/16 will do it or 17mm in new money will also fit it better than 11/16. You might have to bend the spanner a little bit or cut one down, there is a special tool to do the job which makes life a lot easier.
*NB If you have other work to do on the transmission then removal of the tunnel inside the car gives much more access to all the bits you struggle with under the car

Thanks, I will bend a 17mm and grind it a bit thinner.

It is an awkward job especially getting the new one started. I cannot recall whether its 3/4"AF or 11/16"AF without checking which I can do tomorrow if you still cannot find the right size
