Hi All, I’m a relatively new member. I’ve had my P5B now for just over a year and although in pretty good shape have started doing some improvements. So a new rad and sorted out Hester matrix, front and back. Upgraded to electronic ignition. Just bought 5 new tyres wider and it makes such a difference to the ride. Previous ones weren’t worn but circa 1990s. Just upgraded to led soft white on headlamps and side lights, again what a difference. I have a strange gurgling sound when I depress the brake pedal, so wondered if anyone can give me any tips? Engine runs well fest selection from forward to reverse and vice versatile is a bit clunky. Just had a quick overhaul oil changes, brakes check etc. All seems OK. New door rubbers too. Drivers side is a bit tight so hoping it’ll bed in. My main concern though is the ‘gurgle’ when brake is depressed. Any comments gratefully received.

Could the gurgling sound be coming from the water system, possibly the heater. When you press the brake you have taken your foot off the throttle and the revs have dropped which could cause the gurgle. The cooling system on the P5b is notoriously difficult to purge of air as the heater is above the top level of the radiator. Keep an eye on the water level and keep topping up. I doubt if the brakes are gurgling but if they are it would probably be the servo. If the brakes have not had all the rubbers and flexible hoses replaced within the last 10 years I would recommend that they are done

Clunky gear selection might be your idle speed is too high.
