Hi I am in the process of renewing the carpets in my P5b Saloon . I have bought a JRW carpet set , which is of high quality . currently I am fitting the rear carpet , and comparing to the shape of the old carpet and underfelt , I don't know how to fasten and shape the carpet around the transmission tunnel on front of the rear seats . Anybody have done this before ?

I would imagine that the original carpet was shaped to fit the tunnel and the replacement will just be a flat piece of carpet. You will probably need to glue it to the tunnel and shape it as you go, doing sections. Not sure what glue you would use, possibly Araldite, but you don't want it going through to the pile.

You are probably right , regarding how to adjust/shape the new carpet to fit the transmission tunnel . I think I will be using contact glue , as I used this , when doing the gearbox tunnel cover , and it turned out quite well
