Hi David, A technical question for you. When I visit the forum on my laptop, it has the new banner at the top of the page. But when I do so on my phone, it still has the old banner. Why would that be?

Hi Warwick, your phone has 'kept' to old banner rather than updated it. On a laptop or PC you press F5 to refresh the page, but not sure what you need to do on a smart phone. HTH

Usually it's a case of dragging down from the top of the screen which should force a reload.

Thanks. Just curious, that's all. It doesn't really matter. It's what's under the banner that's important. I seem to recall it happening years ago, but couldn't remember the explanation. Must be getting old.

Out of interest, what banner are you seeing? Mine is some P5s and a Mercedes convertible, parked on the banking of an old track with their owners milling about... (Brooklands?)

Mike, it is now a line of Rovers at the Helicopter Museum. Refresh you page for the update ;-)

Well, I refreshed, logged out of the site, logged back in again, cleared all my cookies (still a bit peckish, though), and I've still got the old banner...
ipad running Safari. Anyone else with this problem? Vince? You're my go-to guy now!

I've had this previously. I currently see two different banners, depending on whether I log in or not: as a guest I see the old Brooklands banner, as a member I see the Helicopter Museum.

Just logged out then logged back in and I still have the old banner. Laptop running safari, it doesn't bother me though.

I have tried logged in and out, updated in three different browsers (Firefox, Chrome and Edge) on Win10 and they all show the old banner from the race track.
Jens.

Quite happy with the old banner as I am 3rd from left in the orange T shirt and with plenty of brown hair ! Do not recognise many of the cars but the black 3 litre was a lovely low mileage car and the Mercedes was owned by Freddie Price who once had an immaculate P5b.

When was the Brooklands picture taken, I'm guessing more than 6-months ago I actually quite like being able to see the old one, as guest, and the new one as a member.

I too have the old one, whether signed in or not. F5 has no effect whatsoever.

Press the F5 key on your keyboard. Not on windows, Apple has no F5 on keyboard which I'm using.

On the 50th Anniversary of the marque, P5 Owners Annual at Brooklands 14 September 2008. If you see the green Mk1 extreme right you might just see my green Mk1 - deliberately there because I didn't want it to break down on the video which was about to be taken from a footbridge! The banner has shown on my pc since then. I hope someone can locate the uTube again.

I think it was posted on YouTube by someone called thisiszaphod 13 years ago I found it straight away by searching Rover p5 owners club 50th national. Try this link: youtu.be/ePv9S6Takto

Thanks Barry - that was the vid I was thinking of. The cars were on the circuit after prizegiving and mine (bringing up the rear) and mine was the oldest P5 present. I have since found the link which I had saved elsewhere duh!

You've nailed it for me. I had forgotten that I automatically log in when I use my computer, but not when I check the latest posts using my phone. I'm a guest.

Thanks for the video link, first time I've seen it.
Good to see the MK1s, complete with window louvres; after all this time I've only just paid any attention to the regn.number of the 'front' MK1. I'm aware that some NX-regd cars were Rover ones,ie press, rally etc., was this a Rover one or is it just one registered as normal with a Warwickshire regn..
