hi guys thought if might be quicker to ask you guys. i have fitted a new heater matrix and valve. i have also deleted the rear heater pipes and valve as i dont want to use it. question is which way does the heater fow? i have one pipe which comes from the bottom of the rear of the i let manifold and one pipe which comes from directly above it on the inlet manifold itself. so which one goes to the valve

On my '65 MkIIc, the valve is on the lower pipe and the upper pipe is the outlet back to the cooling system.

ok thanks for that. that is how i had it.
found out since that the longer pipe was kinked and restricting flow. shortened the pipe and it is all good now. thanks

Leave it all in place and just close the valve that controls the flow to the rear. That will stop the flow to the rear, although I had mine re piped as I'd rather have it all intact.

If you are not wishing to use the rear heater to avoid disastrous coolant loss it is best to block off both flow and return to rear heater. Old pipes will still be under pressure as the heater valve only works on the flow pipe. This only applies to Mk3s and P5Bs of course
