Hey there everyone, this is my first post please excuse me if I misread any rules as I get to grips with the forum!
I’m building a 3.54:1 diff and I’m wondering what is the distance from the top of the pinion to the center line of the crown wheel supposed to be? I believe it should be somewhere around 3” and theres a tolerance of couple thou. The only issue is that I don’t have the workshop manual yet so can’t find out what it’s meant to be.
If anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum, no idea on your question but the workshop manual will probably answer most things.

Thanks for the welcome! I was hoping someone with a manual would be able to help, I would look myself if I had one.
Thanks

If you wish to look after these fine cars properly a WSM is essential. The club has them

Hi Phill, yes I understand that they are useful and you can buy them from here however this is the only piece of information I will need from the workshop manual. It seems to myself a steep price to pay for just a simple bit of information.
Thanks

The reason being is that this is in fact for a Land Rover series one, and therefore the rest of the manual is not of any use to me.

I think my 1959 Mk1 had a 3.9:1 diff? When I had to replace it I did so with one from a P4 which was identical?
