If you purchase re-conditioned brake calipers, what exactly has been reconditioned? Is it simply cleaning exterior, new pistons and rubbers and repainting?
Is there any reason for not disturbing the bolts or what do you find if you do? Do the experts remove the bolts? I know the manual says don't disturb.
Mr Wadhams' calipers in the mag look rather attractive.
I am rather curious. Any comments would be welcome. Tony

Apparently if the bolts are undone the O rings have to renewed and the units pressure tested. Its the only way to clean them properly - some reconditioners remove them others do not

I would think that if the the two halves of the caliper were not parted, then the standard of refurbishment would be very poor. Any decent firm who does the refurbishment will have them pressure tested the same as rebuilt servos, and would give them a twelve month warranty. If you want to know more, and need your calipers re-done then talk to Paul Hunt at 'Powertrack'. I can vouch for their standard of work.
