Thanks for the tip about under bonnet lamps John. Here is a new one for you where can i get brake discs for my 3 litre i have been quoted £98 a pair is this about right or is there a cheaper avenue to go down .Are they the same as any other vehicles stag sd1 etc etc .

They only fit P5 and late P4's. Seems about double at that price. They turn up on Ebay also which is where I got my last set from

Be cautious.
I was looking for other vehicles that share rover brake parts. I found that there is a few errors in most of the parts catalogues.
It looks like they are unique to rover so if it says MGC or anything else then they are wrong.
All companies can usually check the dimension thickness etc so it is normally pretty easy to spot the correct item

Have invested in two new Heritage discs from JRW for my 3 litre. Thickness of new discs are approx. 13.5mm (measured with a ruler not a micrometer) and the old discs were about 10mm thick. The surfaces are not too bad but I'm glad I have got new discs. Performance of the old discs seemed to suffer on the rare occasion when I hustled the old lady along, presumably due to overheating.

Too thin disks will overheat quite quickly and reduce braking performance. The caliper seals mak also pop and result in toatl brake loss
