At the weekend I finally picked up my P5 (second one I've had in the 35 odd years I've been admiring them - the first was a shagged out p5B which I only managed to hang onto for a year or so) and I'm now floating around in a sort of semi-confused, lovesick daze. You'll all recognise the symptons: finding excuses to take the car out many times a day, sitting parked up for unnecessarily long periods soaking up the interior ambience and fiddling with switches, trying to catch reflections in the shop windows you pass, standing for ages admiring the bloody thing from all sorts of angles. . .
Anyway, it's a 1965 MkIIc Coupe, manual plus overdrive, in solid Pine Green.
Appears to be in great condition. No rot anywhere currently (yeah, I know that will change), well restored, engine rebuilt and documented about 4 years ago, interior really good. Took advice from someone who's owned loads of P5's over the years and I think I've found the car I want to keep forever.
It pulls like a train once its moving and I reckon has more power than the tired old V8 I once had. Is that likely?
Have joined the Club and will post pictures next week, probably with my first proper question!

I thought it was just me who nearly runs into the car in front because of trying to check how good she looks in shop windows! Enjoy! and don't forget to post some pics. R

Hi Sixteen mpg; I've got a 1966 Mk IIC Manual Coupe (3-litre) in Pine Green also. It is restored except for the interior that I'm working on now. I'll look forward to seeing your pictures, and will someday try to get some of mine up. Ken
