hi , guys , ive a p5 coupe totally restored but the restorers wrneched off the old VIN plate and im having problems with the MOT people...Does anyone know where I can get a blank or a made up VIN plate for car please. - shaun

I would go back to the restorer and demand the VIN plate and if they can't provide it, see your trading standards man! If a vehicle cannot be positively identified these days, MOT's will not be issued. All to do with "ringing" of stolen cars.

I think that before a certain date, (which would include P5/P5B's) there is no requirement to show the VIN plate/number on the MOT test. I would advise you have a look on the internet and you will find all the testers manuals and requirements there.

Seen this ad in Classic Car Weekly "Classic Reproductions" 024 7669 4019 www.classicrepro.co.ukI have looked at the website and they do blank chassis plates

Its surprising how such simple things which can easily be sorted, either properly or cheating cause such a problem with beauracracy!
