Hello All from Sydney,
Just thought I would say a quick hello. I became the owner of a 3l Mk III Auto Saloon last friday.
My other car is a PRB Clubman (a Caterham for you blokes over there.
I am infatuated with the Rover now. I never gave it a second thought normally favouring the XJ6 but driving that has the personality of a bowl of porridge.
I hate porridge.
Anyway my girl is very smooth and so different that every time I am at the lights I have to give it a gentle rev just to see that the engine is still going. Its so quiet!
I bought it initially just to use to park at the station as the clubman is out of the question and its too far to ride my pushy. But now it is getting the royal treatment. I have already started blocking her back ready to spray this weekend in the garage. I will leave it the same colour and perhaps put a two tone on it for style as it is white now.
If anybody is interested in the pics of the spray, let me know and I will post them up.
Cheers and great site
Damian

Hi All, Thanks for the welcome. Any plans I had at fixing this or fixing that have gone out the window as I want to leave it stock. It has only done 90,000 miles so why ruin a winning formula. Do the 3liters always start so quickly? There isnt one single turn of the engine and its already going. Amazing. Rather than the poxy 10 minute trip I travelled to a station further away so I could have more fun on the way to work. I even stopped off for a pic in the sunshine at 530am. If anyone knows where to track down molded carpets for the front please let me know. I might just make my own though... Here is the old girl this morning. I didnt see any Festiva or Falcon drivers pulling over to take pics on their way to work! Cheers Damo

Yes, very nice Damian. I wish people would stop talking about driving to work in a P5 while mine still sits in the shed with work to do and no time to do it.

A very nice example of a MK111 Saloon Damian. Carpet sets can be purchased over here in the UK fromJR Wadhams. Not sure whether they are available over in Oz. I'm sure fellow countrymen will answer that for you.

Hey Damian, I am just across the Tasman and have found www.scottsoldautorubber.com.au/ to be an excellent source of P5 bits and pieces. A tenner will get you an oil filter for example and postage over here is much cheaper than a UK site, will be peanuts over there. Enjoy your ride. cheers tom
