If you look carefully Damian, you'll notice that the car is on the wrong side of the road and the numbers are out of focus. Vince has obviously flipped the image over.
What you're actually looking at is the tacho when the car was parked on the side of the road, idling. It's an old trick; but quite effective don't you think?

Ok, I'll try and improve the focus on the next run. It's hard to hold the camera still with one hand, drive with the other...view the road ahead and get a clear shot of the speedo. The speedo is calibrated in kph. No, I haven't flipped it. Notice the odometer and trip meter within the dial. The needle is just past an indicated 160. I do own it.

Did you custom make that speedo for Kph? Pretty handyalthough after the years of old cars Im sadly used to it.
I will have to refresh mine though as I am getting sick of my speedo "waving" at me for most of the trip.
Would have loved to have heard the engine pur at 160. I am guessing max revs?

I think if you look to the right at the rev counter the needle is sitting at 1500rpm. I've yet to find a car that can do that speed at those revs.

Email sent!
I toyed with the idea of getting an electric speedo as I will be rallying it in a short while but really want to keep it all as stock as possible.
Cheers

Talking of stock? I've just got a DVD of "Lock, stock and two smoking barrels", great film and P5b in it too!

The car in the film is the West London's rep Martin Reed.

"Iagain" has a great picture of the speedo and rev counter of a certain P5B 'maxed out' 'alledgedly' sometime back in the 70s. Of course its not him as that would be irresponsible and dangerous............................
