All P5 wings are made like that - its a common rust point as moisture from the back pushes the 2 lapped spot welded panels apart. The same thing can happen with the bottom wing repair if you are not careful. You have to fabricate or leave off the channel If you do not need such a lrahe panel cut it down The problem with fitting said repair panel is heat distortion but its best to join up small weld at back anf front. prime and apply a good seam sealer to the back join. Be careful to line the wing bottom up with doors and sill bottom some fettling will be required especially if new sills have been fitted.

The lower wing repair can be seen here to give you some idea. The replacement lower wing section do not have the channel, so I removed them from the wing. www.roverp5bduchess.co.uk/gallery2.htm You will have to scroll down the page to see it. With hindsight I would personally seek replacement wings, it depends how you feel about the work involved. You can buy the splash panel brackets and the lower bracket which bolts into the "A" post too. Phil, excuse my ignorance but what does 'lrahe' mean?
