Just in case this may help someone else. My P5b was always sluggish starting. The starter motor seemed to strain a bit to turn over. Additionally, after not running the engine for say, a week or so, it needed many turns to get the engine started. Recently, on cleaning the boot area for ant-corrosion treatment, I removed the battery box and the earth cable. After the the treatment, I cleaned all surfaces relating to the battery earth cables (there are two that connect inside the battery box). The sluggish starting has disappeared. The engine now always starts immediately, even after a couple of weeks standing idle. That's one more problem out of the way.

Those people whose rear ends have collapsed through rotten chassis rails/floors could have told you that but they always seem to keep quiet. Good for you to pass this on
Bad chassis earthing causes a lot of problems
