Does anyone have any idea on the wiring of a rev counter as i want to fit one to a saloon At the back of the rev counter there is three wires Two of them come from the wirnig loom The third wire spades off one of the terminals at the back of the rev counter on to the case So i take it thats the earth All wires are the same colour How do i find out were the other wire goes to Is it +coil side?

Well the reason i ask question was because if you use search which i did first and put in rev counter or rev counter wiring it dont come up A lot a good that is

You probably did not reset the days search from 7 days to say 365. It works if you do this

Pat the default search options are for only last 7 days worth of posts and to display 10 results if you change default days to 500 or so and number of results to 100 or so you will find it easily. If you read the options they are very good except for this default setting Which suits chat boards that are current where as our needs are more archival Maybe Tom could change defaults to be all posts and all results Just a suggestion

Right I see the problem now But when i do i search it should search the whole data base I even checked the old site Anyway thanks for your help

It is on the old site somewhere but Search on that is not so good - infortunately the search on this one does not extend into the old one.
it would be handy to change to defaults on this as Alan has suggested though

I'm still lost here? I ain't got a clue after reading other threads My wiring is not the same as picture on other thread Still can't work out where each wire goes So i took a picture of it usera.imagecave.com/PatMcCoy/DSCF1144.JPGOne wire has a trace of yellow on it Its the wire thats by its self Sorry to be a pain,But i dint want to put dash back and have to take it out again Its a nightmare to do

Never that arrangement - are the white wires looped together ie same terminal

No They are as in picture One wire in to one then off The other one just goes off by itself and has a yellow mark on it

This is not a standard set up but is the yellow/white cable earthed - if not suggest you try connecting to coil -ve terminal and the others to ignition. The earthing will take place via the case so you must rig up something to try it out of the binnacle
