:(hi all on strip down of water leak on my 3.0 i took the head off and found that the block has a 6inch crack running from back to front just under inlet manifold this had been bodged by previous owners,is this a common fault or am i just unlucky ,has any budy out there in the south got a good second hand unit my tel nos are work 01305 257557 all other times 07775625327 chears landybeast

Not at all common so you should find a secondhand item witohut that problem as above Daid Green will have one or a complete engine. Make sure you get the right one if complete engine - Mk3 's are different to MK1 & 2's manual and autos!

Mike, have you tried the local 'Banger Boys' if you know any of them . Might be worth a trip to the banger race meeting not far from you. Another alternative is to give Mark a ring in Weymouth.

i have had some luck and it looks like a mate of mine will be able to weld the block up and i will get the old gril back on the road thanks for the surgestions
