Hello,
Just joined the forum - I don't have a P5 (would love to own one though) I work in the Czech Republic and have a Friend who has a 3 litre P5 Mk 3. Grateful for some advice regarding getting the wheel alignment (tracking) adjusted, can you take the car to a normal garage to get it done ? the manual info seems quite complicated - it talks about setting the suspension height. Also his overdrive has packed up, he thinks it is electrical as someone worked on the electrics and mucked up his wiper controls (only one speed working) so maybe they have played around with the wiring - any common faults on the overdrive? Thanks very much for your time.
Regards
Duncan

Suspension height should not have changed but does affect ttracking. Its straight forward and any modern lazer keit or aold fashioned trammel bar will work. Irs adjsuted using the centre rod ONLY which has left/right hand threads on teh TRE's soi nor need to disconnect unless seized through rust then some heat will be needed.
Good luck and welcome

Beware of Fast-fit ones they may try to adjust the wrong tie-rods. Once you have identified the correct one they should have no trouble. The SEARCH will also give more tips

Phil is right, ask if they are ok with checking the tracking on these cars. I took mine in after doing the track rod ends and they asked me "Who did the track rod ends???" feeling under pressure as I thought I had made a CO-K up i said...."Phil.. from Nottingham" Luckily they said the tracking was spot on.....so I TOLD THEM IT WAS REALLY ME!!
