Shes stuck in a muddy paddock (long story...) and I'm reluctant to tow her out as there is a lack of places to attach the rope safely... Any suggestions ? (Before the rain comes again....!) Help........!!!!!! Cheers. Mark.

The only safe place and where its meant to be done is the front subframe X member - try to attatch rope at 2 places by each side member.
I have done this - tell us your long story

I had a look at the subframe initially. I'm a little worried that the rope when stressed may buckle the bumper/ numberplate as the towing vehicle will have the rope attached considerably higher and we'll be going uphill. Just want to tread (very carefully) at this stage.....

If you cannot arrange to lower the rope attachment on the tow vehicle then remove the bumper. Only 2 3/82 UNF bolts attach the bumper irons to the chassis and are quickly removed.
Looping the two ropes round each side's radius arm may also help - these will not be damaged.
Do not attach anything to the antiroll bar!
Note It's only in the last 30 years that cars had recovery points - any old timer recovery man should be able to tackle this with damage.
NB I have heard of some using the bumper - not a good idea especaially on a rusty backend

I know this is sort of obvious, but thought I'd better ask just in case.
I presume that it doesn't have a towbar. If it does, can you pull it out backwards?

Thanks for all of your advice fellas.... Its currently sheeting it down here so I'll lay it off for a few days and remove the bumper in the meantime. Good excuse to polish it on the bench anyway...
