Does anyone know where I might be able to obtain the correct blue moquette and furflex to retrim my 1967 MKIIC Coupe? I have tried Wadhams but at the moment they don't have the correct shade. I have also tried Woolies and Segal trimming but they only have a dark blue.
Thanks

Not sure what the correct blue is anyway and this may be unobtainable - there are a number of car-trimmers and their stock sources do vary so a good Google may turn up what you need. I will try to find a couple I have used. The Reds vary tremendously so no doubt the Blues do BTW it is Furtex (plush/velvet) and stretch back vynil on the seat backs. Moquette is entirely different You can dye your own? Welcome anyway tell us more about your car

Possibly some german Mercedes material websites could help you (at least with some sample pictures): www.steenbuck-web.de (try 'velours' trim) www.cabrio.de (carpet materials/"Wollvelour") Mark

I finally 'bit the bullet' and ordered the material from two different suppliers - Wadhams and Segal Trimming. I'm pleased to say that the materials are identical colour although they are not the same shade as the original. Now I have to sort out the carpets. I have chosen a sample of carpet from BAS International and I will see if Coverdale carpets will make it up for me using my originals as patterns.
Phil,in regard to your comment I have owned the car for seven years but it has been off the road for the last four years because it failed the MOT due to corrosion in the sills. It is a MK11C coupe manual with overdrive. The colour is steel blue with a charcoal roof. After several years of prevarication I got hold of 'The Mobile Welder' who advertises in 'Practical Classics' and over the course of a number of weeks he replaced both sills and repaired any areas of rot in the front/rear wing sections. I am very pleased with his work and would recommend him to anyone. The car is now structurally solid but needs a bottom half respray, the interior replacing and some work on the brakes. I am aiming to get the car back on the road some time in Spring so I can once again enjoy the luxurious armchair motoring provided by the P5.

Good - the Mk2c is the best P5 even better than the P5B, in my opinion - I prefer the auto but manual/od are particularly rare
