1959 Mk1 6cyl straight. Contemplating installing seat belts to my car which has a front bench seat. Would seat belt anchor points be there in readiness, or what needs to be done. I don't see any indication that points are already installed.

I would be very surprised if there are any mounting points on a MK1. I'm not sure about MK11s as seatbelt legislation would have been in the pipeline then, even if it wasn't law until 1965. MK111s would have had them factory fitted as standard. My car is not available to check it out but as soon as I can I will see.

They are on Mk2's but not sure on Mk1's - they were offered as an accessory so it is likely . It will be obvious if fitted by just removing the B/C post trim and looking underneath next to the transmission tunnel.
The rear ones can be seen from underneath the rear wheel arch.
Quickfit offer kits in cases like these so it need not prevent fixing them many P4's have had them fitted - the stalks poke through between the seat cushion and back rest
