Hi Guys,
Can anyone please advise on the size of tyre I should fit to my new purchase, it has xplys on but in the interests of safety etc I would like radials but don't want to end up with the wrong ones.
Many Thanks if you are able to help, Michael.

Its covered on herr but the correct radials size is 185SR (or VR) x 15 and not 8 ply van tyres!
The P5OC can avail them themselves of bargain price Hankooks not likley to be repeated
Alternative 205/70 SR(VR) 15's Jag XJ6) will fit but these plcase more strain on the steering and are harder to get now as well as dearer
If you have 3 Litre you will need the wide tubeless valves that many tyre places do not stock. Do not retain the old ones or use X ply tryes (6.70 x 15)
Use SEARCH for more
Welcome anyway and tell us more!

Thanks for the info, I'm a bit thick when it comes to tyres & I got confused with the 185/15 part as I thought that there should be a '70' or something in the middle. I have seen the tyre offer on the site but wasn't sure if they were still available? I only bought the car last week after a long search, its in beautiful condition & just needs tyres & a better battery urgently. Rover P5 MK11 Coupe - 1965 'C '. Any advice much appreciated (and needed!!!) Thanks, Michael.

I have a 1964 MK II Coupé "A"
It runs excellent on Avon 185HR15
80 is the old standard for radials, 185-15 is always 185/80-15, but 180-15 is a special tyre it is 180/88-15.

I do not care for Avon radials - they are expensive and do not hold road well in the wet

You are right about Avon Phil, but they are beautiful, they nearly looks like crossplys.
The perfect P5 tyre don´t exist. Michelin once made 670SR15X, you can only hope that they start manufacture them again. They are doing 725SR13 for Mercedes, so why not?
Coker Classic have 600R16 for Jaguar. I still hope that some manufacturer start manufacturing 670R15.

Lars

Hi Guys...
Just to let you know that I have found Federal 185/15's & ordered them at £59inc which didn't seem bad?
Michael.
