Looks great fun....but I would have preferred the MG-badged one. What engine specs? Did you consider Waxoyl or sim.? Mark

Spooky. I mentioned I had the MG version then this turns up. I must say it does look excellent. Whatever you may think of the Maestro it's another vehicle from a bygone age that you have managed to preserve, and a superb job too on the resto.

Takes all sorts - they are probably rarer than P5's now?
I think this was also the last car that P5 designer David Bache was involved in too and like the last P5B's the last Maestro Clubman models of 1990 approx were hand assembled by a small team rather than mass prododuced on an assembly line

Thanks folks, maybe we're all bananas then? The previous owner had the restoration done, not me ,he is a Maestro fanatic! Truth be told,I sometimes prefer to see base or lowly spec cars at shows ,as the top ones always get preserved,it's nice to see a lowly model preserved and not turned in to a clone of a sporty version.

There was a load of diesel maestro made in the early 90's most definatley up to 94. I think I might have seen the odd M-N reg but these were all diesels and ended up as taxi's around Glasgow.
The kit form was 1995-2000 I think that the Ledbury buit kits was after 200 so you find some wierd registration dates.
We used to walk to the local Austin-Rover dealer on a Sunday and would hire out (typicallly Mexico brown) 1.1 and go to the sea side for the day. There was some sunday drinking laws so we had to be day trippers.
it was a always great to get a Red maestro for the day as I never liked the brown ones.
We eventually owned a zircon blue 1.3L A196TDS. If this ever gets restored someone will find a keep Glasgow tidy sticker that slide down the glass and inside the door. I was upset and mother wasn't much help.
