This one. Bought for £100 and sold about two years later in 1977 for £120 and yes, that is the original reg number. Anyone else have a regret?

I think most of us of a certain age have, I had a Morris eight 1937 which I gave my mate twenty quid for in about 1962, in the end I took it to the local scrap yard, these cars just were not worth anything then, you could not see how much these cars would be worth forty years on, or my 500 gold star that I sold for £150 now they are worth thousands.

My wife still has her first Mini Traveller Mk2 which she bought on passing her test in 1972!
I miss my Auto Union/DKW 1000's I had in 1972-1992 but spares are rare now and not as good my P5/P5B (or the Land Rovers and P2) so no real regrets

Every time I sell a car I am sad. I clean it up and then take photos of it from every angle. When its gone I have to adjust to the new car. After a week everything is fine.
Regrets I still have for my Stag. Sort of mustard yellow with same colour hard top and black linnen soft top. Bought it second hand from a mechanic in Eindhoven who said it was perfect. And I believed him and didn't get it checked out. And it was did 20k kms without a problem.
Now I read that it was one of gthe worst made cars ever. But I never had a problem. Except for the alarm going off in the middle of the night. Met all the neighbours. But thats not a real problem!

How about some photos Peter. The Stag certainly wasn't a masterpiece of automotive engineering and assembly, but a lot is written about cars of the past by people who have never driven them and only know what is said about them. (I'd certainly have one). David, Here's something you might like for Christmas. www.pitstop.net.au/view/products/page/query/plu/3987All Minis sold here were Morrises.

The early Mini Coopers certainly do it for me Warwick. Mine was bought fitted with a 1100cc twin carbs engine which gave blistering excelleration, with wheel spin in the first three gears, but not so good top speed. In the 70's you could buy large cans of spray paint, enough for a panel, so I resprayed the car using this method. The bonnet and wings were one piece fibreglass and the drivers door was too far gone as rust had destroyed the window channel so it was never painted - the car was actually three colours of green. Ahhh happy days

I think since i started making a list nearly 8 years ago i can now see in them 8 years i have had 29 different vehicles and this doesn't include my company cars which i had.
Because of this i get sad for 2 days after they have gone then think of the money and whats next ;D
Some from the list: Ford Fiesta X2 Classic Mini 998cc BMW Mini One Renault Clio X2 Ford Orion (with cosworth wheels!!) Ford Fiesta Diesel Mercedes 200T (w124) Mercedes Vito Mercedes C180 Estate (w203) Ford Escort Van Smart Roadster Brabus Ford Transit Van BMW E30 Touring X2 Rover P5 X3 Rover P5B Coupe Mitsubishi Pajero Vauxhall Astra X2 Rascal Van Vauxhall Corsa BMW Mini Cooper Rover Metro (still with only 27k miles) Rover P6 2200sc
and with some quick working out i think i have only lost money on about 5 of them

I do like the Granada. I had a 2.0 litre one. Give me the 3 litre any day. I could see my self as "Reagan" and Barry as "Carter"

The granada was the best car i had,it was a 3 litre auto, 1 owner from new with 90,000 on the clock. It drove superb, and i would really love another one. (perhaps a ghia!!)

Having watched Top Gear and the feature on the Lancia brought back memories. I had a cream Beta coupe which was a really good car. Electrics were a bit iffy but the engine was fantastic. Bodywork wasn't too bad either, despite its reputation. Note the old cars in the background circa 1978I also bought a blue HPE which I eventually sold to a chap in Birmingham. Practical but not as fun as the coupe - the car that is, not the chap from Birmingham ;D

Can't believe there aren't more postings here!! Only 14 people regretting the sale of their car? What a hard hearted bunch of car "lovers"!
Should this subject be re-labeled ladies we still think of? Or cars we regretted buying?!
There has to be some emotion out there somewhere. P5(B)'s are all about emotion?

Sometimes I do wish I had not sold my '72 Ford Ranchero. Amazingly overpowered with a 5.7 V8, four barrell carb and a factory four speed trans! I sold it to my nephew, who enjoyed it until he sold it.

Not sure I regret selling them but I did enjoy my Auto Union (DKW) 1000s two strokes of 1960's Really smooth, fast, good FWD roadholding and had a freewheel in true Rover traditon. No wood though and plenty of rust
Ran them in the mid 1970's - my dad used one of them before that

Well its improving.
Ah yes Sarah Dickens. Indeed.
Think last person to see her was Warwick (he always drives with the window open). Glen may have some video though.

I had a Mk7 jag, registration number RBP 123. Sold the whole lot for £250. Thought I was doing well at the time (mind you it was a hell of a long time ago). On the opposite side of the road from where I used to live a guy dug a great big hole and pushed an Armstrong Siddeley in it,stlll complete and had just run a big end.In those days you had to pay the secrap man to come and take them away.As far as I know its still there.

Yes Glenn I'd say that counts! Definitely regret selling my Mk1 Cooper S last year, but letting it go allowed me to have two classics in it's place, a P6B and a Mk2 Cooper. It's gone to a good home though, only a few miles away.
