For many years I flew to Wynyard once a year and drove to Stanley. I would often see a dark coloured P5 saloon parked in a property near Detention River. It was too far away to be certain of the colour or if it was a 3L or 3.5L. I thought it might be yours.
By the way; if you create a post and then realise you need to add something, you can edit it rather than creating a whole new post. Just click on the Edit button at the top of your post. If you wish to delete an unintended duplicate post, simply click on the green button in the top RH corner of your post (gear wheel icon) and select Delete from the drop-down menu. When using the Quote function, make sure that you start typing your text after the text you are quoting. Otherwise your text ends up as part of the other person's quoted text and it gets confusing.

Hi there, first time posting so apologies if in the wrong area. I have a Rover p5b which was imported from the UK to Ireland in 2003, The car has plenty of Rover P5 owners club stickers on both front and rear window would there be any way of finding out history of the car before importation to Ireland as it had obviously been well looked after with many new parts and kept in really good condition. Since then it has needs a little bit of TLC but since I acquired it a few months ago I've rebuilt the interior which is looking great, bit of a respirator and she'll be ready Many thanks

Thanks for the welcome, the UK reg was MGL21K and from our reg docs it was imported in May 2003. As I mentioned who ever the previous owners were they looked after it very well, body work all tidy, new (in relative terms) wings, brakes, reconditioned engine, etc.

Welcome Mauro,
You're the first to post in this thread, although I seem to recall there was someone in Italy who posted for awhile many years ago. Nice car. Your Zenith Stromberg carbie set-up probably came from a 2-door Range Rover.

New owner of '66 p5 upgraded to p5b specs. Also has a non-original two tone paint job and under dash air-con, yet to be recommissioned. Rover purists look down their noses at it but i couldn't give a fig as everyone else loves it and so do i. I have spent a lot of money on new chrome and other parts to bring it up to a high cosmetic and mechanical standard. Esperance, Western Australia.

New owner of '66 p5 upgraded to p5b specs. .... Esperance, Western Australia. Welcome Westoz. A nice part of the world is Esperance. Although I haven't been there for nearly 50 years. I've added you to the list on Page 1.

I think it looks stunning. Never worry about what others might think either. They are only jealous and didn't do it first ive learned over the years.
Its YOUR car too at the end of the day. Keep up the good work.

Good day, or bonjour as we say in France; I'm BOZ and I live in the Charente department, which is about halfway down the country north-south and about one third of the way across west-east.*
Over the weekend I collected a fine P5b, bottle green with cream interior. Dutch registered since new in 1968. 40000(ish)km only, but I'm assuming that's +100000. The car (happily) has what looks like a factory-fitted sunroof, metal panel with T-bar twist and slide activation.
Don't know how to add photos, or - more accurately - my phone is iPhone, my desktop is PC, my camera is Canon and my laptop is Chrome, and they don't seem to talk to,one another.
More later

Bonjour Boz and welcome, great place to join for info and advice. I too have a steel sliding sunroof with the T bar manual handle! Check that all the drain pipes are working and that it’s water tight, my drain tubes run down the front windscreen posts and rears are in the areas next to the rear screen posts. Outlets are inside front wing and rear wing areas. I hope you enjoy your new toy.

Hi Boz,
I too am in France, but a bit further south in the Tarn department, about an hour North East of Toulouse at Castelnau de Montmiral. Not too far away really. I have a 1973 P5B Coupé. Nice to have another Rover Nearby!

Currently at PJ’s Panels in Dandenong, heading to Valet Vehicle Storage in Moorabbin on Monday! The respray and most of the refit of chrome etc is complete, but the windscreens will have to wait until Pete’s Prestige is back online. Attachment Deleted

Looks magnificent, Mike. I was born and grew up in Dandenong. A very different place now. For most of my childhood, it was a semi-rural market town at the end of the metropolitan electrified passenger railway line. Lonsdale St., Dandenong 1959.
