Thanks Graham amd Owen. I'll add your cars to the list.
Graham, it must be very satisfying owning the car from almost new.

Hi Warwick, Am brand new to this forum. In New Zealand. Have just bought a P5B. A one owner car ('69 Saloon) Odd that there's only one other Kiwi on here, as I have been told of another P5B in Wellington, supposedly in good nick except for dodgy brakes. It's going for 2 Grand Kiwi !!

Hi Bryan,
Congrats on your purchase. Not bad getting a one owner car.
There are probably a few silent Kiwis here. Allan used to post regularly but he seems to have gone quiet in the past 12 months or so.

Hi Warwick
Well all the foreigners are abroad.... javascript:add(%22%20;)%22)
I do own since now nearly 22 years a P5B Coupé, 1969 (could not figure out how to get an image in on the left side), which was originally sold in the NL and brought to Geneva by an ambassador who I bought it from before he retired and went back home.
Condition is / seems original although I had to recolour the leather because the Mulberry on top of the rear seats have turned into dark grey and was completely dry and hard. As well the wood would need refurbishing. Apart from a new exhaust, new waterpump and now since Sunday a blown head-gasket (or worse....), no major surgeries. javascript:add(%22%20:-/%22)
In do only now of three more P5B's in Switzerland: an arden green Coupé, an arden green and a white (with black roof) Saloon and a more or less completely restored white Coupé. There are as well a few P5. Maybe the ROVER CLUB OF SWITZERLAND could tell you more.
Beloved friend of my elephant is as well an SD1 3500 Vandenplas Series 2 Automatic.
Best regards to the Kangurus, Peter

Hi Peter,
You've been silent for a very long time.
Head gasket you say! I hope you don't take as long to fix it as I have.
If you click on your user name in one of your posts (such as the one above), it will take you to your profile. If you have logged in you will see a heading "Modify Profile". Click on that and it will open the page that allows you to add the photo and a lot of other info. The photo must be no more than 100 x 100 pixels, and it needs to reside on a photo hosting site such as Photobucket.

Hi Warwick. Even though I am 2 1/2 years late in responding to your original question, you can add a further one for Canada.

Hi Warwick,
Another Dutch Rover P5 to add to your list: my 1966 Mark III coupé automatic. Original Dutch Car, first registered 07 07 1966, license 86-70-BM. I own this car for three years now, did brakes and motor. The car body has been restored in 1979, and is now a very fine rolling re-restauration.
Greetings, Ton

Warick, 2 Saloons in reasonable condition and a 1971 Coupe in very neglected condition in a shed with about 10 classic prosche tractors in great condition in Co Clare, Ireland. It is a good dry shed, so no badgers or similar living in the coupe I looked at the Coupe and ran away very quickly; however, i do think it coupe could be restored..... i may call him again in the future.... His name is Jim (the Farmer) Anyway, they exist, so stick them on your list!

Thanks Baldrick,
The list was only intended to contain cars belonging to people who frequent this forum. The idea was that it could be a way for another foreigner like me to quickly check to see if the forum was also used by one of his countrymen, and to more easily see who they were, and perhaps make contact. I'm not sure how successful it has been in that respect, but it has provided a lot of introductions to overseas forum members and their cars. There are also quite a few UK expats who have posted here to tell us of their "foreign" P5s.
When I started the thread I specifically excluded the UK and Ireland, because I naturally assumed that the vast majority of forum members would be from those two countries - being as they are the P5's natural habitat.
If my assumption is wrong and P5s are scarce in Ireland, please put me straight and I'll add your own car. (Edit ... See my post below)
Perhaps there is a place for a thread where people can list the locations of cars that they know of, without being too specific, although that would probably only be of relevence if they are in places where P5s are uncommon. For example Mark and other members in Germany could probably provide details of cars that they are aware of in that country, ... or Denis in Estonia.
On the other hand, there would be no point trying to do the same for Australia - at least not in the eastern states. Although it is rare to see a P5 on the road in everyday traffic, they aren't really scarce here.
Does this make sense?

Hi Warwick, you can add another v8 saloon to the list. I've had mine for about ten years, bought it half restored and as the body completely rust free I decided to continue on although it has developed into one of those slow ongoing restorations. I'll have it finished one day. It was my daily driver here in Canberra and suprisingly there are still a few about. After a bit of a lay up I have decided to get the ball rolling and finish it once and for all. They sure stand out these days and although parts are getting harder to find, or rather only available to those who are part of some secret click, I have decided to carry on regardless, I'm going for a four link rear end, ditch the wobbly front end and graft on a proper double wishbone/coil over/ rack and pinion set up. once the 5.7 LS1 v8 is installed. I'll leave the interior alone though save for some clever electronics instead of that dodgey old Lucas stuff. I don't mind altering the originality of these cars, as some of the design was a bit daft. I think its about time these lovely old barges shrugged off their stuffy old image anyway. happy grafting Daniel, Canberra

Warick,
Apologies, I missed the fact that Ireland was included. There are very few in Ireland based on my own experience. I know of a few that need work and therefore are all in sheds somewhere, and have only seen 1 per year at one of the big shows in Ireland. Virtually never advertised for sale. Compare that to copious numbers of Mark II jags. I would say they are scarce.

Hi Warwick,
We met on other threads, but I didn't put the informations about my cars here.
So, I'm French and I have 2 P5B coupé, both RHD, both silver birch with burnt grey roof, and one wich has a sliding steel sunroof (factory fitted or not, I don't know yet)
I also had a LHD P5B coupé. It was badly corroded and ended it's life as a donor car and for illustration purpose (see the thread "P5 B Coupé in the nude" in the general section)

Thanks Cyf, I've added another 2 French P5Bs to the list on Page 1. Here's a link to your thread to help people find it later. roverp5.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general31&action=display&thread=5600Although I suspect it will stay active for a long time and would remain close to the top of the forum, even if it wasn't a sticky. Have you seen how many times it has been read? Nearly 1,800. Keep up the good work. Warwick BTW that's a very impressive roof aerial you have on your car.

;D For the aerial, I'm sure it's an aftermarket item!
With this, I can get all the Warragul radio stations from here!

Add a 1966 P5 saloon to the Canadians. I don't know if it was previously registered, I bought it in August. A fair amount of restoration is required. I'll probably be spending most of my time in the Modified Forum.
