Interesting... the servo is off of mine right now, and i'm not looking forwards to rebuilding it, as it doesn't look quite right for some reason.
what's the story with lockheed?

The girling servo I had on mine was full of break fluid, so I had a look on the forums and as far as I could tell the view was that Lockheed servo's were better than the girling. So I fitted a lockheed in place of the girling and it works fine. You have to make some minor alteration for fitting it but there is information here on the forum.

Rcoups, I purchased mine in very run down condition and started from there. List of Mods: Leyland P76 4.4 litre V8 (Aussie version of the 3.5 Rover engine) fitted to a Rover Mk3 BW35 case with BW40 internals (Aussie box). Differential centre changed to 2.9:1 ratio and fitted with Mercedes rear disc brakes and Mk 2 Jaguar calipers. Dual fuel (LPG) but currently running full time on gas. Four core aluminium radiator runnning bottom and top thermostats with owner constructed bypass system, twin auxiliary electric cooling fans switched by a thermal switch. Have also retained a mechanical flex fan and fitted air conditioning. Twin circuit brakes (EA Ford fast fill master cyl with booster fitted in left rear side of boot). Twin pipe exhaust system. Cruise control. Engineer certified.

OK....... which one of us has the oldest mk3? ? mine was registered on may 1st 1966... and it has to be an early car, as it has the same rear cylinders as the mk1 and mk2... aka, the longer slimmer pistons, which are not the same as the latter ones, / p5b's.

mine was the registration date, being a black one i should imagine it was built not long before for special order, I might be wrong about it but usually they are government or mod cars I believe, not unless some one has more information that could put some light on the black coloured cars. Would definately like to know any info on the subject.

THOUGH MINE IS ONE OF THE EARLY ONES, AS ITS GOT THE REAR CYLINDERS FROM THE MK1 AND MK2... LONG SLIM PISTONS AND THREE CLAMPING SCREWS... UNLIKE THE LATTER P5B REAR CYLINDERS, WHICH ONLY HAVE TWO SCREWS AND USE SHORTER, THICKER PISTONS. AND... AND... AND... MY SEATS ARE THE DEEPER, THICKER SET SEATS... TWO LOTS OF TWO... WHICH IS ODD, AS MOST HAD THE BENCH SEATS AT THE BACK
