My 3 litre has a couple of 1 inch holes in it courtesy of a mouse that made his winter nest in the car. The vinyl is a textured pattern with a fleck in it. I have communicated with Jonathan Wadhams and he advised that he is only able to source a plain vinyl. Consequently I am looking at repair options.
Has anyone tried this?
I was thinking if I could find some spare material from one of the headlining side panels, then I could cut this to match the hole shapes. Then I would need to use some type of vinyl repair kit to blend it in.

It should be possible to do a repair.
The headlining should be made up of a series of panels sewn together so you could in theory unpick the holes panel and sew in a new section from a second hand one. Although if you were to do that then you may as well try an dsource a good second hand lining.
If you are looking for some material to repair small holes then there is normally quite a bit of excess on the panel above the rear screen.

I would go for a second hand one from David Green he can remove the material off the frame if you want a good job done or if you email me I will send you a piece to do a repair if it is the same as the later Mk3 onwards? if you give the year Phil I am sure will give the correct answer! by book shows two colours for the 3Lt Light Grey and Beige the P5b is Oatmeal so we will wait for Phil's answer. The section is not really a section the lining is one piece with a long pocket on each section for the rods if you take a bit from one and stitch to another it will be a bit messy as first the Vinyl shrinks and it has adopted the shape of the section secondly you would have to cut and re-tape and to be safe you would loose at least 1/2" on that section for the new seams plus 1/2" from the two other sections and you cant afford to loose an 1" they are very tight on tolerance.

I did contact Dave Green and he may have a used one that I can purchase. Is it possible to remove the rods and roll up the headlining into a fairly compact size for shipping?
I noticed by the way that I mistakenly posted this in the P5B section. My car is a P5 3 litre Mk11c. Sorry for any confusion

Sorry for any confusion Yes it all comes off the frame and can be rolled up, just make sure it is nice and warm when you put it back on the frame
