Never been to Fairford before - initial thoughts: Traffic queues were as bad as people warned us. Car parks can be miles from the entrance Aircraft were amazing. Red arrows are in a league all of their own. The Vulcan Red Arrows Saab 96 with a Saab Gripen It was so busy Highlights: Vulcan bomber Spitfires, Hurricanes and Wellington Jet have the power and noise but there is something special about an old piston engine. Driving the Rover to and from the display area

Thanks Peter. The SAAB (car and plane) are not mine but we did sneak in next to the plane at the end of the day for some pictures. We were waiting for security men complete with semi automatics to appear but there was no one around - though it was 8pm in the evening.
The Rover did attract a lot of interst, especially from older members of the RAF who remembered Air Vice Marshalls and alike being driven around in them.
