Greg, Hello and welcome, I'm sure your new car will turn a few heads in the USA. Make sure you join the club, lots of useful info and contacts in the club magazine 'Take Five'. You'll also find some very knowledgable help on this site (sadly I'm not one of those, it's all I can do to dip the oil) Peter

Hello Greg. Welcome to the site. As Peter said this site can be of great use and there is always somebody who can give you advice on most subjects/queries you may have. I have my own site where I am currently posting photo's of owners and their cars and I am looking to add to the gallery. If you send me a photo of your car and yourself I would like to post it onto the site or you might just like to browse the site as it covers the restoration of the car. GLENNREEVE@AOL.COM web site: www.roverp5bduchess.co.uk Regards, Glenn Reeve ps just put your mouse pointer over the links above.

;DFine motor and I notice that it seems to have Aircon as well - does it work? Someone else is interested in fitting this on this forum.
According to James Taylors book which is the definitive guide to P5's and a must for any enthusiast only 80 LHD auto exports were made in 1967 model year (Sept 1966 to July 1967) - how many went to the USA is not given. 803 00137 to 00216 were the chassis numbers. Does it match yours?
Try the Gaydon Heritage Centre for more history (it costs a fee)

No they all ended in "A" Presumbly just in case the V8's were not ready mods would make the the next MK111 "B"s Its therefore a very early 1966 model probably built 1965 as these were numbered 803-000001-136 It might therefore have its 40th Birthday later this year!

thanks for th e information i will have to get that book. ;D hopeing after the valve work up and cleaning out the cooling system it should be a good runner 2 of the exhaust valves were cooked so im hopeing for more power running on all 6 cylinders ! the car has covered about 200 miles since the 80s so i anticipate haveing to go thru everything the air con blower motor works and all the equipment is there im sure i will have to rebuild the pump.

Don't forget if you are running unleaded to get good quality stainless exhaust valves - either the proper "Rover" type or similar - the cheap versions aren't up to it
