Does anybody know if all outer sills are the same ? are thee two different types? i.e. saloon and coupe or are there three? Ive got a new pair marked 65-73 and they are wrong for a 1a Is the difference in the age or the body configuration? Looks like I might have a brand new pair of sills for 65-73 for sale

They are the same but only Wadhams fit properly as good as the OEM - there were loads over 2nd rate aftermarket ones some being oversills. None fitted well

Hello Phil,
I am currently replacing the inner and outer sills on my P5B Coupe. I bought the sills from Wadhams but i cannot say they fit like OEM sills. I need to correct the sills in many ways. The changes are: -refitting the front jack support as it sits approx 6mm too low -changing the shape of the outer sills as the outer line (where the sills "meet" the doors) is approx 5mm to far out -deepening the contact area's where the outer sill meets the A,B, and C post.
I am happy with the parts from Wadham as these are reasonable priced and these are a good base but lots of panel need a fair amount of modification: -LH boot floor repair panel: no strenghening plates underneath (because of the battery) -A post repair panel: door catch eyes mounted 7mm too high -inner wing panels above rear axle: these are originally L-shaped -Rear inner wing panels: no strenghening surfaces pressed in.
Just received a rear jacking point which not assembled well. Had to grind the 2 brackets from the pipe and weld these again. It was properly engineered but not positioned well when welded together.
Also bought a new battery box which needed a lot of modification
The inner and outer C post i fitted on RH fitted good as did the rear valance middle part
You have better experiences with the Wadhams panels?
Regards
Peter

I have had no problem fitting Wadhams sills - I have done 3 sets over the years - the only slight gripe is that there are no "ends" as on the original ones. If the body has sagged slightly this will need rectifying and lot of P5 panels needed "adjusting" even when cars were built

Hello Phil,
Did you deepen the contact area where the outer sills maat the A,B and D post or were these already pressed in on your outer sills? If i don't deepen these area's in the outer sills it seems not possible to fit the sills at the original height and you will get wider gaps between doors and sills at the underside of the doors. Regards Peter
