The Monte for classics started from Glasgow on Thursday, with the competing cars on display in George Square prior to the start from the old RSAC building in Blythswood Square. I have put together a slide show of the cars for anyone interested, sorry to report no Rover cars competing. Plenty of nice cars though, Lancias, Alpines, Datsun Z cars, Mini Coopers; look out especially for the Sunbeam Rapier and the Jaguar. www.youtube.com/watch?v=WekO50EdR1Q

Were cars really much more interesting back then, ... or am I just getting old and riddled with nostalgia?
Probably both.

Thanks Pete!
Warwicks right. You could spend time looking at each of these cars. And wanting to speak to the owner. Some of its because of the rally mods however but they all have lots of character. Thats the bit that has now disappeared I think.
