Hi folks,
I am currently hunting down a P5 in N. America, and I may have found a car. I'll let you know if it turns out to be one worth buying!
Anyhow, if I do end up with a P5, one of the first things I generally end up doing on a recently purchased old car is replacing the flexible hoses for the brakes and for the clutch, provided that they haven't recently been replaced.
The search tool (even after changing the time setting from 7 days!) didn't turn anything up, other than the usual suspects for parts (Wadhams & Pierre). Being in the US, I'd like to avoid the cost of purchasing in the UK, if possible, so are the hoses shared with any other Cars?
Gordon H. mentioned that the fronts may be the same as a TR-3 Rear hose. What about the rear?
Tom
PS: I had to do this last year for my Riley 1.5, and it saved me a pile of time and money to be able to source the bits locally. For the record, it turns out that the Riley's front brake hoses are the same as an MGC Clutch slave hose, the clutch slave hose was nearly identical to one of the rear hoses on a TR6, and I can't remember what the rear brake hose was!

Why not fitted modern braided hoses - these are made to measure in the UK and are superior

Odd. What do I need to do to have replies to this thread e-mailed to me?
Anyhow, I will check with Kip Motor, but they specialize in obscure stuff and I am looking for common stuff that will work in this application....
David @ Sports Car Services in Vermont often has parts reference books that help in this area. I'll see what he can dig up.
As for Custom Braided Hoses, I do not know of anyone on this side of the Atlantic that does that. Can anyone point me towards a vendor?
Thanks for the pointers!
Tom

To the best of my knowledge Tom, the forum doesn't have the facility of some others that allow your to "subscribe" to a thread and receive e-mail notification of new posts there.
I could be wrong - it's probably a question for Captain Admin.
It can be done for notification of PMs.

I just sent a message to the folks at Z1 Auto to see if they can make up the hoses for me. I am fairly certain that they resell Goodridge, and they have a UK office, so here's hoping! (I'd really rather not have to ship them in from the UK...) Tom
