I recently purchased a RHD 1962 Rover P5 with the manual transmission from a Naval Aviator in Florida. The last owner imported it to the US in 1992. It's now in storage in Ohio waiting to be restored. I'll upload more pictures here and to my Flickr account as I make them. I'm not sure about the timetable on the restoration; one of my cars is currently being restored (my 1971 Pontiac GT-37 - similar to the GTO), then the Rover and my 1965 Isuzu are next. I'm not restoring to sell, but I'm building up an eclectic car collection. Any suggestions are most welcome, especially if they point me to new body panels. www.flickr.com/photos/60771196@N07/?saved=1

Welcome,
I've never seen a Bellel before. We only got the Bellett and the Florian in Australia. And then the Gemini as the GM Holden version.

Thanks for the welcome.
Not sure I can switch gears to the Rover that fast though...
As for the Bellel. I never saw one either which is why I bought it; I didn't expect to ever see one again either. It was on an island in Washington State, only a few miles from the BC border. I have a good friend that lives nearby, so I had a place to hold it until it could be moved. The Bellel is actually a fairly well made car, but underpowered; mine is luckily complete.

McArthur is a small town in Ohio I frequently drive through. It's the county seat of Vinton county, the least populous (total and density) county in Ohio. I do not live there, but typically drive through it twice or more a week.
Thanks for fixing my link. I'm not sure why the link gives me trouble when I paste. It does the same in gmail even when I use their http import popup.

McArthur is my surname and it is the same spelling which is not common. Might have to do some interweb searching to find out the history there.

No, neither the Rover nor Isuzu were not found in my barn. I only purchased the car this year from a guy in Florida who imported it in 1992; I was interested in getting a P5, but expected I never could find one in the US. Now, my 1971 Pontiac was sort of found in the barn after my father parked it there in the late 1970s. I don't know the history of McArthur (I'll post a picture of the metropolis today), my guess is that it was a coal mining/rail town. The only that probably saved it is being the county seat. Although it is a long way off, does anyone have suggestion on the color for the car? I like the two tone paint (which I believe is original or an old repaint), and like the off-white roof; however, I'm not crazy about the main body color. I was thinking something like this, but don't know the name of the color: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Rover_P5_coup%C3%A9.jpg

It looks like Admiralty Blue but it can vary a bit in photos. The roof will be Silver Birch, which is not silver but the off-white colour of the bark of a silver birch tree (sort of!).

That sounds like the same as the original roof color. Too bad there are few in the area (none were at the recent local all-British car show) to see what looks good on the car in person.

I can't get that last link to work now, but I had a look at the first photos again and it looks grey now on the laptop. Not Burnt Grey like mine was originally, or Mark's is now (Eisdielenbiker), but pale grey. I don't know what the standard Rover grey is called.

Glenn did feature my car in the April (2012) issue Take 5
And a Sinclair is not an option even as a joke or a clown car, I wouldn't have one.

Welcome from a fellow US P5 owner! FYI, for anyone who hasn't seen one, the Bellel are a handsome car. They pop up on Bringatrailer from time to time: bringatrailer.com/?s=bellel&x=0&y=0Tom

Tom,
Good to meet another one from the US! Do you know when/where the 2013 P5 show will be?
I like the Bellel and its looks, they are particularly rare in my part of the US. That actually makes me like it more!

Tom,
Thanks, I've known about that for a while. But, I cochair a conference around that time every year so it's usually impossible for me to go. Next year the conference is in upstate New York, 17-20 June; so if the show is the week before or after, it might work out.

I realized I never published pictures of my car here before. My Rover as it arrived in 2011, Glenn Reeve put an article on it in the April 2012 Take 5. It is still on the backburner, but I'm probably going to start hiring a part time guy in the spring to work on cars with me so I get back on track with my projects. I posted on my other cars at the following: roverp5.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=365&page=3#51637
