Nice looking mild custom from a P5 Coupe. It still looks like it has rear doors...but no handles. I wonder how he got the front end that low?

Very cute Glen... but I'd still like to know how he got it that low. I've lowered the front of mine a bit...using various techniques...and none authorised by 'Rover', but on the original components the limits are constrained by both the original rubber bump stops and the steel mushroom stops fitted to the bottom suspension arms. Any ideas? * I do like the lowered no front bumper look and the colour combo...I'm not so keen on the oversized rear wheels though.

I love it all.
Wonder what else he has done that we can't see. Engine, brakes (nitro?!).

The blower has gone in favour of a bonnet bulge and slits. It had a tubbed rear end as it was a full blown drag car during the 80s. Memory is hazy but Chevy motor, tubular front end and most likely a jag or yank front clip? Would be cool to get an article from him for the mag!

I remember Winston's rover P5b back in the 80's when we all use to do the Chelsea cruise every month, back when it was a great show, packed streets of hot rods, classics and customs, you'd have to do the circuit two or three times just to find a parking space, the sweet sounds of burnouts in the distance, it was a great monthly event that me and my mates wouldn't miss, we too all had rover p5b's, all 8 of the saloons, when we first met Winston, a nice guy, showing interest in all our Saloon's, not as much as we where in his blown Coupe, he also had a friend who he hung out with, he drove a dark green coupe with a black perspex rear window. when Winston pulled away, it sat burning rubber before disappearing in the distance, spinning in all gears, believed to be auto, then he was running a blown 351 Cleveland, believe its still the same today with a shortened Jenson rear end on leaf springs, Although no blower, I remember hearing in the 80's that winston was seen street racing at the Chelsea cruise and lost it, killed the front end, then rebuilt it using a tubular frame and replacing the front suspension to jag, All my friends have now moved on from the P5 world, But like Winston I still own mine, over 30 years now, They were the days, nothing comes close, And Winston's Rover still looks cool.

I too remember his rover all those years ago. I was there the last Saturday of last month, theynow let you park up in the car park in the park, just inside the chelsea bridge gate.....it was packed especially as it was a bank holiday and the chelsea flower show had just ended...so loads of old farts [like me ] walking around the cars with big bunches of flowers that they let go cheap at the end of the show..
