Hi - I have a 70 P5b which I bought a couple of months back. I am trying to get it roadworthy and fix a few other problems. Just wondering if there were any other owners on the island (I am in donegal).

I think 3 in Dublin, 1 in Castlebar, 1 owner who may not be a member near to Knock. I am sorry I cannot put you directly in touch with them because of the data protection act. That info could go to a regional rep who would be a club official but we do not have one for Ireland. Cheers Pete Collins

George Crothers from Gilnahirk has been over to the SARR and Lakes Rally several times with the ex Martin Donnelly P5B saloon, and he is an active member of the Classic Rover Club of Northern Ireland. May I suggest you get in touch with George via that club? www.classicroverclub.co.uk/index.htmGeorge has contacts in the south and should be able to assist.

Hi All, yes I joined the club, #6178 - I am in Donegal. Bought the car from a guy called Eddie Lillis in Tipp a few months back. Have replaced the rear brake cylinders and the rear shocks. Had to free up the gear selector. Still doing various other bits. trying to get it sorted for my daughters wedding early september. Nice to see so many replies and that "I am not alone......" Cheers

Does "3 kids under 6 and number 4 due on August 8" give you any insight as to how manic my life is? ;D There is Karmann Ghia sale pending and a TR6 arrival due in August too... In saying that though, how much is the package?

Hi, Vincent here, Dublin. Bought a '67 P5 Mk111 at a museum auction in Copenhagen last August. ( KRU 343F) I have started my res-to, and joined the club recently. Interesting history to the car, but lots of gaps in my info. Registered first in Bournemouth to a Stanley Gregory Phillips, ( millage 29k, in 11years) and later, '77 to a Ian Alasdair Phillips ( 25k in 17 years )at the same address, so I'm reading it as one home/owner, if I can. I have record of Mot's 2002, 2003, 2004, and mileage of 844 miles from '95 to its present 55k in 2012. Anybody can throw any light on its recent past I would appreciate. I have found very little serious problems as yet, other than 46 years of lack of TLC, so hopefully she will bloom again, and I can take her dancing. But, I would like to know about the previous men in her life. She might not forgive me if I did a riverdance in stead of a waltz.

Hi Vincent welcome to the Club and the Forum an interesting post and I wish you well seeking your info It may be an interesting story for the magazine how an English car ended up in in Ireland after being exported to Denmark Post a few pictures Vincent of the car 8-)or you doing the Riverdance

guys ..........and here was me wondering about P5b's in Ireland Sean (of Kilkenny fame) was good enough to sort some brake issues for me in the past Car is just back from painters (where 4 month job took 18 MONTHS) and now needs fettling There is a 'show' the 1st Sunday of every month in Cherrywood (beside Shankill) Place to be for coffee, cars and amazing amounts of mechanical bull!!!! Mine came from Scotland via Wexford and is here 14 years now Current miles 52k but all history lost by previous owner during house move - sob
Ive accumulated some spares over last 3 years which I bought to do my own one up but I'm also on lookout I need the wire that holds the underbonnet matting in place (and need the matting too) Also need a rear drivers side door bar (that stops door opening too much) Also side indicator lenses (the skinny ones) - bought 4 new ones but they got lost during 'paint' job
Anyway, enough prattle for one night

Hello Lads I'm another P5 owner in Lurgan Co Armagh. My 1969 coupe is in England at present with Pride and Joy where Dave has sent me some X rated photos of what it looked like with its 'clothes off' so to speak. I agree we should try and get some sort of regional rep up and running as it does seem like your on your own trying to maintain a P5 here. I must say that the english lads are more than helpful( if they'd only let us win more rugby matches) and have always given good advice and more importantly their time, especially John W.

Yes fair is fair! We could always count on Brian O' Driscoll leaning aside and leeting us push on for a try.

Hello guys, I'm a new forum member from Gilford, Co. Armagh. I have owned a 1968 Rover P5B for the past 3 years. I found the car in a barn near Lurgan and I have been slowly restoring it. I'll start my own thread elsewhere so lookout for it.
