Hi all, I had a really busy day working on the old girl. I removed the front door components and the rest of the door lock assembly from the rear door, so now they are stripped down, they are off to the blasters. I also finished the cosmetics around the B,C and D post.I also removed the rear wing with the aid of the Oxy/Acetylene. Don't worry I didn't cut it off, I had to heat the bolts to release them, even though I had soaked them in penetration oil for days. The door catch area is repairable but the top edge of the inner wing means a phone call to JRW. Posting more photos tonight. I also found out that you can lock the petrol cap from inside the boot. You learn something new every day GlennR

I must say I am impressed with your progress reports and also the speed. Its far better than any article in Practical Classics and covers virtually all of the usual problems. I just hope it does not disillusion any prospective owners or unconvinced spouses Well done anyway

Just one observation, Glenn. On your interior photos, you show a rod with a hook being used to pull the horseshoe clips from the door handles. On one photo the hook of the rod is pointing towards the door liner - this can risk tearing the vinyl. Ask me how I know. Its just as easy and much safer to have the hook pointing outwards. I use a bent wire coathanger.
